Boudoir is Self Care
As women, it's all too common for us to put our self-care on the back burner - or even all the way down in the chest freezer in the basement.
Don't let your self-care routine get freezer burnt!!
I totally get the feeling of guilt sometimes when it comes to spending money - but self-care, girl you need to keep up with that.
Self-care looks different from person to person. For me, self-care looks like staying home on the couch on Sundays and watching endless Netflix - even when I could be cleaning my house or some other menial task. It looks like getting a massage once a month to ease my back pain. It's my weekly therapy session so that I can talk to someone unbiased about my anxiety and depression. But it's also regular exercise to keep me moving and healthy and to manage my stress. It's taking vitamins because my body needs proper fuel to function.
A boudoir session can be self-care.
A boudoir session can help you honor your body in a way you have never honored it before. It can change the way you see yourself, the way you talk to yourself. It can put some pep-back-in-your-step and give yourself a newfound sense of self and self-worth.
You should never, ever feel guilty about doing things for yourself, taking time away from the daily grind to fill your cup so that you can be the best version of yourself. If it makes you feel good, keeps you sane, or if you think it's going to help your confidence or see your beauty - that matters, too.
“I lied and said I was busy.
I was busy;
but not in a way most people understand.
I was busy taking deeper breaths.
I was busy silencing irrational thoughts.
I was busy calming a racing heart.
I was busy telling myself I am okay.
Sometimes, this is my busy -
and I will not apologize for it.”
